Well, we had a pretty good week/end. Joel & Sylvia (Granny & Grandma) drove the 11 hour trek from West Point, MS to meet their grandson for the very first time. We had a wonderful time with them and hated to see them leave. While they were here we (minus Walker) managed to attend Forrest's football game on Thursday night, which they won big time...49-6. :) Then on Friday, they helped me take Walker to the doctor for his 2 week checkup. He's doing AMAZING...weighing in at 8lbs. 9 oz. (almost back to his birth weight). Praise the Lord for a healthy report! We did a lot of 'chillin' at the cabin and watched A LOT of college football. Thanks for coming Joel & Sylvia. We love you and miss you already. Here is a pic of Walker that Kim took during one of their 'dates.' I love this picture because Walker's eyes are open and he's quite 'alert.' Guess that's all for now...I've been on 'duty' feeding Walker at 4am...and now it's 5am and Aunt Kim's turn to hold 'little man' while F & I get an hour or so of uninterrupted sleep time. I love this part of the routine! :) PS- My mom flies in today from Memphis til Sunday--I'm so excited to have her here and have some help. Thanks Mom!
PS- Some of you have asked if I'm typing it in right that Forrest's dad's 'chosen' name is "Granny"...yes...let me explain. When our nephew, Patrick (Forrest's sister's son) was little he couldn't get out 'Grandaddy' so he called him "Granny" and it's stuck ever since. Joel doesn't mind ...he's confident in his masculinity. :) So now you know...
PPS- Every day when the mail comes it's so much fun! It's like Christmas or Walker's birthday every day :) Today we got packages from: Kelly Anderson (Alabama), Natalie (Mississippi), Sara Beth (Georgia), Aunt Ginger (Kentucky), and Lauren (Tennessee). Pretty blessed to have friends from all over the South. I'll be sure to blog these gifts soon...they all are PRECIOUS! Thanks in advance ladies...so thoughtful for you to send such special gifts. We LOVE them!

hey! so glad things are going well! as far as advice for getting babies to sleep through the night... i say, don't rush it. my doctor told us that up until 4 months, they usually are waking up for nourishment, not comfort - but after four months, you can let them cry b/c they usually just wake up to be held... so that is what we did - and that is what worked for us! at 4 months we fed him only one bottle in the middle of the night - then by 6, he was sleeping around 12 hours per night. SO, do what works for you and don't force it - i've found that several folks i know that let their children 'cry it out' too early, have bad sleepers now =) just my opinion! DO WHAT WORKS FOR y'ALL!
