Our Weekend...

Well...our weekend entailed...Elizabeth going to see Forrest's bball game on Friday night. He coaches the JV basketball team at Connally High. They won (by alot) and are 15-1 now! Then I slept in a little on a rainy, Saturday morning while Forrest got up early to be at "Principal school." He started that this week and will finish in June. Then BU had a Lady Bears game vs. Kansas...we won 90-40...that is quite unbelievable...beat 'em by 50 points!! I'll have to post a picture soon of me and my cool headset that I wear during the games to make things go smooooooooth. :) (ha) Coming Soon! Then Forrest & I finally had date night after a "looooong drought." It was great to go out to a "romantic restaurant" with a couple that we love but don't see to often. Rebecca & Preston are Waco transplants from Arkansas. So we have a lot in common. Thanks for hanging with us friends!

Then I thought we'd put a picture of Forrest on here...since he is outnumbered on the blog. He & his baby girl get snuggle time after church this Sunday.

Also...I put a neat idea
"The Prayer Board"
on here if anyone wants to do it next year. After Christmas...I take all of my Christmas cards and cut out just the picture and put them on a bulletin board as a reminder to pray for all of our friends and family throughout the year. We put ours in our laundry room since we are in there quite often with laundry and Bella duties. So if you didn't send us a Christmas card then I guess you won't be prayed for as often (ha) I'm only kidding!! :)

Well...it's about 77 degrees in Waco today...so as soon as Forrest wakes up from a nap it'll be time to take Bella out to play!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Dancing Queens

Just thought I'd put a "work" photo on the blog of how I spend a majority of my time...as being the Spirit Coordinator at BU. These are the Songleaders (Dance Team) @ the game on Saturday night vs. OU. This isn't all of them but as many as I could round up after a long doubleheader day. Our beloved Lady Bears lost at the buzzer to a 3 point shot. Our first home last in 26 games :( The velvet pants are new...so always fun to take pics of the new gear! Aren't they cute? PS- The middle girl bottom row is from Hattiesburg...so fun to have a Mississippi girl with me who knows where MS even is on the map!! Around here it's "blinders on" for Texas.

MAMA'S GIRL

Bella & I fit perfectly in our chair & 1/2 on this lazy, rainy Sunday afternoon. Ahhhh...how I've wanted one of these for soooo long. (It's my first in about 2 months, due to the holidays, travel, and work). She was watching Big XII women's basketball with me as long as she could then konked out.
As you can see she has grown a bunch in 8 mos. and weighs probably 80 lbs...and is bigger than 1/2 of me. She's a heavy baby!! Happy Sabbath day!

I WENT TO DISNEYWORLD!

Well my Graduate Assistant and former Songleader, Jennifer, and I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando this past weekend to watch UCA College Nationals to see if we could take our squads next year. It was very enlightening but ALOT of watching...all day long! We got some great ideas and are inspired to hit the ground running! My sentimental favorites were of course, Memphis and Mississippi State. Here we are at MGM studios. We loved getting "time off" and being allowed to be "kids again" and not the responsible ones! :) We rode some fun, new rides...at Epcot and MGM. We even made it to every country in Epcot! France was our favorite--we enjoyed coffee on the cobblestone streets for about an hour....ahh that's the life! May we suggest the ride "Soarin" it is like you are flying over California ...the Golden Gate bridge, the ocean, the wine fields...it's amazing and was worth the 1 1/2 hour wait in line. That's it....and as they say in Disneyworld...have a "magical" day! :)

Faithful Viewer

Ok, Ok...I confess I have a morning show called, STARTING OVER, that I can't miss...but now I tape it & watch it in the evening so I'm not too late to work. I think it's because I'm a "relator" and the "counselor" in me clings to each of their stories. It's on CBS in the morning! Tune in and let me know what you think! Happy Viewing!

To Mississippi (again) 1196 miles later!

We had one of the BEST weekends we've had in a LONG time! We left Thursday night @ 9PM from Waco and got to Jackson, MS @ 4AM. Forrest interviewed with a small HS there for a head coach position, just to see what happens. Our main reason for going was to attend Bryce & Joanna's wedding weekend (MSU friends) Bryce & Forrest are great friends and I knew Bryce because he was "Bully" the mascot while I danced at MSU. It was SO good to see some of our dear friends all together again and all married! This picture was taken at the reception...it was still Christmas there! So fun and we all got our jam on! :)
Doesn't my husband look handsome?

This picture is of "most" of the "Wives" Club. From L: Betsy, Julie (Dallas), EJ (Waco), Jill (Indiana), Rebecca (Jackson), and "little man," Coburn (Dallas). Thanks to Dr. & Mrs. Wiley we spent a good bit of time hanging out at their home...we even took a dip in the hot tub in the 30 degree weather! (no pictures of that) :)

Here is another picture of the complete "family" (ha-inside joke) From L: Betsy & Brent-Dallas) Jill & Ben-Indiana) Joanna the bride & Bryce-Jackson) Amy & Kevin-Georgia) Rebecca & Brad-Jackson) Elaine & David-Pasadena, CA) Forrest & Elizabeth (Waco). And also it wouldn't be a true MSU wedding without lots of cowbells to grab at opportune times to "make some noise." Every time a bell rings they wedding couple had to kiss...I still think they have some to catch up on!

I couldn't help but put a picture of each of us with Coburn Reese, 7 mos. old. Isn't he so cute! Especially as a Bulldog fan! :)

Thanks for sharing your little miracle with us Brent & Betsy!

Here is a picture of my KD friends from MSU. We got together Saturday morning for brunch. From LtoR: Mary Katherine, Jenny, Natalie, and Elizabeth. Mary Katherine's little boy, Campbell, joined us too...now I'm not sure why he wasn't in the picture...but he's precious. Natalie...thanks for being such a gracious hostess and being flexible with our "early morning" schedule.

Alrighty...that about does it. We really did enjoy this wonderful weekend. Congrats again to Bryce & Joanna...soak up the sun in St. Lucia for all of us would ya? Love to you all. Don't be strangers! PS- Happy Birthday Brad!

CHRISTMAS 2005 & 1876 MILES LATER...

We're back! We made it back to "our home" in Waco around 8pm on Saturday night and were too tired to go partying for New Year's so we just stayed put. Let's get started. We spent 5 days in Germantown, TN with Elizabeth's parents and family. This is our newest addition...my precious niece, Abby...she is 18 mos. old. She was not feeling too hot that day but I'm so honored that she knows my name "E" even if I only get to see her 2-3 times a year. :(
Raise your hand if you think she looks like her Aunt E?! If you are wondering why there are no pictures of Forrest & Abby it's because she was too scared of him and the scruff on his face.

This is Elizabeth's family. Grandma Barber, mom's mom; twin brother, Paul; Dad, Elizabeth, and Mom. We also went to a NBA Memphis Grizzlies game while there...but there are no pictures because we were up in the nosebleed section...but that's ok...a good time was had by all.
Then we headed to good 'ole West Point, MS to Forrest's family...down on the farm! This is Forrest's sister, Ginger. We gave her 12 bottles of "Fuze," an energy & vitamin drink. They don't have them in Kentucky where she lives. She got hooked on them when they came to Texas for Thanksgiving! Glad we could sustain your "Fuze Fixation." Happy Drinking!

Forrest & Caitlin enjoying a lazy morning on the couch. Isn't she just precious? She is in first grade and very smart. Ginger if you don't submit her picture to model we will!!! What are you waiting for? Later we all went outside to get some fresh air and watch Caitlin ...rollerblade!

As we always do...Ginger & I have to dive into some type of craft projects. So here is a tree skirt we made for a my little "Texas themed" Christmas tree. Isn't it cute? We bought burlap and sewed the edging on and sewed the green burlap star on top of the tan burlap. I learned how to sew, thank you Mama Sylvia! We also made Christmas trees from tree branches found on the farm! I feel so accomplished when I finish a "craft project" and especially learning how to sew!! Watch out! (Click on pictures for larger image)

On our last night. We took a trip to Starkville for Elizabeth to get a hair cut and to catch a MSU Men's bball game. Of course I was scoping out the Spirit Squads...since that's my job! I have my comments but I will keep them to myself. They got a new overhead box, as seen in the picture...pretty neat! The fun thing was they were still playing the same songs over the speakers that they played 5 years ago when I was on the court. And we won by 2 at the buzzer. It was fun to go back for a game since I had not done that in 4.5 years since I cheered my last game. The really cool part was when we were leaving and I ran into 2 people that also graduated from State & now work at Baylor with me. (Small world) His parents live in Starkville still. Isn't that the coolest? After the game we went to a favorite hot spot in town, The Grill, to meet Forrest's HS pals he hadn't seen in quite a long time. Fun times all around.

So that's it. Thanks for a great break everyone. We enjoyed every minute of it and it definately went by waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too fast. We love you all. HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)
