PRAY FOR GBC

Hi Friends & Farmily....On a more somber note than fun trips, Bella antics, or a pink car in the BU parking lot. I ask that you'd keep my home church in your prayers. We are going through a bit of division. Germantown Baptist Church is all I have known until we moved to Waco. In my eyes, it has always been the most perfect church where God is constantly working in people. I have innumerable God moments there from Disciple Now weekends in HS, to the college, single days...to my most special day of getting married to Forrest. It is where I met some of my dearest friends. And one song comes to my mind and tears are welling in my eyes as I type...and the song words say "It's where I found Jesus." It may even be a country song....but who cares... it's true and I know God lives there in this building and in this body of believers. There is another website: www.savegbc.org that you can also get the scoop. I'm not going to go into great detail but the bottom line is that the pastor wants to go one way and most of the congreation wants to go the other. I am not on a side, I just want and pray for God's will to be revealed soon. Thanks everyone. I leave you with one of my favorite songs right now. Once in the site click on MUSIC, then ONLY GRACE..... There's only grace, there's only love, there's only mercy and believe me it's enough.

I FINISHED A BOOK!!

I just wanted to pass along an "easy" read for all of you in the mood for a light read. It took me about a weekend to read it, and I like to read but don't push myself as much as I should...but we had some downtime on the plane to New Mexico and in the hotel so I did it! If you are a pet owner...you'll love this book. It did bring laughs and a bunch of "that sounds like Bella" and a few tears in the end. My friend let me borrow hers...but you can pick it up at your local library today! Confession: I don't even know where the Waco Library is. Pathetic huh? If you read it let me know what you think :) Marley & Me: life and love of the world's worst dog

NCAA TOURNAMENT 2006

Where should I begin? The Women's NCAA Tournament took the Baylor Lady Bears to Tucson, AZ & Albuquerque, NM before it came to an end this year. Last year, National Champs, this year Sweet Sixteen and out. But still a great experience had by all. Here are some of the favorite pics that capture both trips.
The Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, NM were quite beautiful and overwhelming. Can you believe we rode up to 10,000+ feet in that dangling cart? (ahh) Don't see this scene out of your local Starbucks do you? (mountains and cacti) :) We enjoyed some downtime at the spa in Tucson, AZ and then grabbed some coffee. Tucson is above and Albuquerque is below! PS--The stunt picture below was featured worldwide on yahoo.com from the Associated Press. Kinda neat!

Time with Mama & Papa

Posted by Picasa Don't you just love lazy Sundays? I can't remember the last one I've had like this one. I got in at 4AM this morning from New Mexico with the Lady Bears. Yes, we lost to Maryland :( Not a pretty game...but life goes on. Guess there will be more time for fam time and such. So back to Sunday...obviously I did not make it to church by any long shot. I crashed hard when I got home and didn't get up til 11AM...by then Forrest was in Oklahoma, where he and a friend flew to for the morning to pick up a lawnmower. Yes...isn't that crazy he left this morning around 7am and was back in time for lunch w/ me (all because of the convenience of flying) I'm just thankful he made it back safely. No offense Brenner!

Like I said, I got up around 11AM and Bella and I took a lap around the "Bear Trail" the affectionate name of the running trail around Baylor's campus. It's about 2.25 miles so I was proud of my baby. Later, we went to McAlisters with the pilot and his wife :) Then Forrest & I took a nap together and I'm now trying to finish my book I'm really into (more on that later) and trying to multi-task by watching Grey's Anatomy, blogging, and making lunch for the rest of the week (chicken salad) yummy!

Thought you'd enjoy these pics of Bella reacquainting herself with her MAMA (since I have been leaving her quite often lately to travel on the basketball trips)...while we depressingly watch basketball knowing that our team is out of the Big Dance :( Then a picture of Bella and her Papa ....bonding on the couch since she is one pooped out little girl, thanks to her mama's workout!

Random Pic of the Day...

Notice anything different? Only at Baylor would you see one of these. Colleen...thanks for humoring me long enough so I could take the picture while talking to you on the phone. Just thought I'd share since you don't see too many of these on the street. Just kinda makes you smile huh? :)

50 bucks & 30 minutes later...

Well ok fine. I'll show you the new "do" and the new "brows." Whacha think? I tried out a new place today in Waco, The Mane Event. I told her add some layers back in and make the brows a little thinner..what the heck! :) I'm impressed it actually looks like I got a "cut and style."
Since it's Spring Break for my kiddos, I have no practice and some free time so I got a trimmy trim trim and a brow wax to get ready for the trip this weekend to Tucson. Oh yeah...forgot to tell ya'll. We're off to the desert! The Lady Bears were selected to play Northern Arizona in the 1st Round of the Women's NCAA March Madness. So we leave on Thursday to good 'ole Arizona! It's always a treat to travel in first class style with the Lady Bears on their charter plane, I mean come 'on...we're only the "REIGNING" National Champs for a couple more weeks...so we gotta live it up! I hope to see my 'ole Kanakuk pal...Layne while I'm there. Go get 'em Bears! Leave a post and let me know what you think of the look. The funny thing is I took these pictures myself. Bet you couldn't tell. Scroll down to the pic of me holding Abby of the brows before today....because if you're anything like Forrest...he can't tell the difference...but you can so tell between then and now! Click on the picture for a close up (ha). Don't you just love beautification?

The Past Week...

Ok...so I haven't blogged in quite awhile so here goes. This past week was the Big XII (Men's & Women's) Basketball Tournaments. I drove back and forth from Waco to the "Big D" between games. Our men lost to Colorado by 6 on Thursday, and our beloved Lady Bears lost by 11 to Oklahoma last night in the Championship Game! It was tough to swallow our pride after winning the tourney last year and going on to be the 2005 National Champions! This picture is from a pre-game rally and the infamous "glowing ball" of Dallas. (A true landmark for the city).

After the big game last night, we met our Kanakuk friend, Rashad, at Cracker Barrell for some dinner at 10PM. It was so fun to see him and reminesce since he lives in Cali now.

I faced some drama along the week (what's new), but I won't go into all of that. The week capped off with an Associated Press reporter interviewing me while at the tournament and this morning "THE STORY" hit AMERICA! Did you see it in your local paper? It would have been "cool" to have your name in almost every newspaper across the nation except I was "misquoted." (Not a big deal to some, but to me...it is/was) I hope it dies down and blows over. (Please PRAY that it does...it is stressful because I'm a pleaser). Anyway...that is what is going on in our world. (A few pics to keep this post entertaining for you all). Oh...and Bella had another Bulldog come over on Friday for a visit...an English Bulldog, like the MSU mascot. Diesel belongs to a couple of students of mine. Bella is an American Bulldog so they do look quite different. Arent' they cute together? Enjoy.

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

Well here they are...my great squads (minus All Girl Cheer) who of I will take many pictures during tourney time. Don't pictures do a great job of reminding you why you do what you do? Yeah Baylor Spirit! I love Picasa and after spending all night editing and then not saving my work I had-had it!! We finished our home bball schedule on Wednesday night by beating Bobby Knight and Texas Tech (that is quite the feat for our rebuilding men's team). Go Baylor MBB! Onto Dallas all of next week for the Big XII Tournament then to who knows where for the NCAA Big Dance with the Lady Bears. I'm crossing my fingers for Denver....so I can see my best friend and her newborn, Lucy. Watch for us!! Sic Em!
